What is a “Board Around”?
AACP introduced its “Board Around” initiative in 2020, as part of its commitment to fostering stronger connections with collaborative communities across Australia. The concept is simple yet impactful: the AACP Board holds in-person meetings in different states and territories on a rotational basis, enabling the Board to conduct its business more effectively while engaging directly with local collaborative practitioners and stakeholders.
Why Do We Do It?
The AACP Board believes in the value of personal connection and the power of collaboration. As a national Board, our Board members hail from all parts of Australia, which means a good deal of Board business is conducted via video conferencing. How Does it Work?
The Board holds two Board Arounds annually.
Board Around are conducted at different destinations, on a rotational basis.
These events are self-funded and Board members volunteer their time and cover their travel and accommodation expenses, to ensure AACP remains accessible to communities across Australia.
A Snapshot of Board Arounds to Date
Since its commencement, the AACP Board has visited Adelaide, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra. While the Board Around initiative faced a slight disruption at the start due to the pandemic, the Board has remained committed to this unique approach to governance and community engagement.
